October 2004 Speaker

The Ann Arbor Area Macromedia User Group welcomes author/inventor Damien Stolarz on October 21, 2004.

Damien Stolarz is an inventor with a decade of experience making different kinds of computers talk to each other. After studying Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at UCLA, Damien co-founded Blue Falcon Networks (formerly Static Online, Inc.), where he supervised, architected and developed networking software for 7 years. He has written and spoken at conferences about Internet video, content delivery, and Peer-to-Peer networking, and created Robotarmy in 2002 to provide high-technology consulting in these areas. He was also recently featured in the New York Times for his latest venture - CarbotPC. (http://carbotpc.com) Damien has a written a new book titled - "Mastering Internet Video - A Guide to Streaming and On-Demand Video" - published by one of our sponsors, Addison-Wesley.

This will be a great opportunity to meet the author of a topic that Macromedia Flash-ers should be very excited about. Find out about the deep workings of video and how to get it prepared for internet delivery from a master on the topic.

For this special event, Addison-Wesley will be giving us extra books to raffle off to members as well as a special 30% discount off of Damien's book. You can take advantage of that discount immediately by going to awprofessional.com and ordering Damien's book with this coupon code - 'STOLARZ' (it is case sensitive.)

Along with having Damien speak, we will be raffling off a copy of Macromedia Studio MX 2004 w/ Flash Professional! Tell all your friends about it and be sure that you don't miss this meeting.

Also, by attending the September Meeting - which is this Thursday, September 23rd from 7 - 9pm at the WCC, Room BE 170 - you'll get an extra entry into the raffle for the Studio MX 2004 package that will be raffled off at the October meeting.
